The popular Travel supplement of the British Sunday Times introduces the Lithuanian seaside as a “cheap sun” holiday destination for families with children.
The Lithuanian seaside ranks 22nd in a list of the top 100 summer destinations this year. The publication claims that a dinner for four people costs 20 GBP in seaside resorts. The Travel supplement published an article about the Lithuanian seaside entitled Baltic Beauty. According to the article, the advantages of Lithuanian beaches are big dunes, a lot of space, nature and exceptional attractions such as smoked fish from the hands of a fisherman.
Lithuania will introduce its holiday possibilities at the tourism exhibition Destinations: The Holiday and Travel Show in London. Lithuania will focus on its seaside, spa resorts, cultural tourism and possibilities of active leisure. Some British tourists claim that they expect direct flights from Great Britain to Palanga, and that’s why they choose the Latvian seaside instead. 33,000 travellers from Britain stayed in Lithuanian accommodation institutions in 2006, an increase of 23 percent from the previous year.
