Lithuanian national team should be at full strength against France with most players being fit or coming back after injuries.
Head coach Jose Couceiro announced the squad list with four new, but at the same time well-known names.
Compared to the team list for the training camp and friendly matches in Portugal, the squad has been strengthened by goalkeeper Paulius Grybauskas, defender Marius Žaliukas, winger Saulius Mikoliūnas and striker Robertas Poškus.
Only two players playing in Lithuania were invited, both from FBK Kaunas - defender Irmantas Zelmikas and attacking midfielder Kęstutis Ivaškevičius.
There are no serious injuries in the squad but Italian based players Tomas Danilevičius and Marius Stankevičius have minor knocks. Both players should recover quite soon.
The Lithuanian team will gather for the training camp on March 23rd in the German resort town of Bad Homburg, located about 35 kilometres from Frankfurt. The day before the first match with France the team will return to Vilnius.
The first match with France will take place on March 28th 21:45 local time at the Kaunas S. Darius ir S. Girenas Sports Center Stadium, and the second will be played on 1st of April in Paris at the Stade de France 21:00 local time. Both matches will be broadcasted live on Sport1 TV and LTV.

The Millennium Song Festival of Lithuania Song of the Centuries

Lithuania is the land of songs - having retained the name since olden times. First chronicles that had not mentioned the name of Lithuania, yet - the Baltic tribes, and historical sources of the 19-20th centuries, foreign travelers and nationals – pillars of the renascent national movement – noted the special songfulness of Lithuanian nation and the beauty of a folk song that accompanied people throughout their entire life. Millenary songs are still heard in Lithuanian villages, as there is no better way to convey the Lithuanian worldview, reveal the rather nostalgic national character, subtle perception of the beauty and good, as by means of a song.

During the March 11-15 will in Berlin be held international tourism exhibition “ITB 2009″. Were Vilnius will be presented as well.
The main purpose of participation in the exhibition - to the city of Vilnius as an open, hospitable, able to offer a wide range of tourism facilities, services, events, entertainment. Foreign travel agencies have yet to organize or prepare for future travel to Vilnius, the stand will be offered a promotional and information materials on the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius city municipality notified.
During the exhibition visitors will be given details of the Vilnius tourism resources and services, tourism news in town, presenting the Vilnius tourist publications in German and English languages, maps and souvenirs, will be directly answered the questions. Will be delivered the project “Vilnius - European Capital of Culture 2009″
This exhibition will be submitted to the city of Vilnius is the eleventh time. This is one of the largest global event for tourism, which is visited each year over 180 thousand visitors. It participates in national and city tourism bodies, tourism agencies, tourist information centers - the representatives of 180 countries and regions.

Renovated Vilnius TIC

In February of this year recently was opened the reconstructed Vilnius Tourist Information Center, located in Vilnius street 22. In the Center has been changed layout, designed by a separate entrance from the street of Vilnius to the visitors room, now rooms are adapted for disabled guests. Visitor Room is more spacious and lighter.
