Lithuanian Museum of Folk Art invites all to the Anna Day and ryes harvest festival on 25 of July at 12 am., which will be held at Mičiūnų homestead, the village of Highland. We will bake the bread, churn the butter, congratulate Annas, reap ryes and wish good health to each other!
After the ryes harvest the songs, dances, fresh bread and other regale of the new harvest awaits you.
So welcome all Annas, reapers and spectators to the ryes harvest festival!
Programme of the festival:
12.00 - Bread-baking ceremony.
12.30 – Congratulations and gifts to all Annas
13.00 - Demonstration of ancient harvest tools
13.15 – Reapers‘ escort to the fields.
13.30 – The ritual for the first sheaf
14.00 – Giving honour to the last sheaf.
