Recent attempts to create an official logo for Lithuania have ended in disagreement between government, business, and cultural groups.

Step forward photographer and marketing expert Marius Jovaisa. With only 50,000 litas in private funding, he and a small group of publicly-minded designers have taken the bull by the horns and created a logo which, they say, anyone is free to use.

Their emblematic design uses a stylised version of the Vytis, the sword-wielding mounted knight from Lithuania’s coat of arms that has been set in a heart-shaped piece of amber and given the tagline “Lithuania – Heart of the Baltic.”

Asked by journalists if he thought the tagline might risk offending Latvians and Estonians, Jovaisa said that marketing is about getting out in front of the competition.

Jovaisa said political, government, and cultural groups can employ the logo freely, adding that he has set up a non-profit company for administering it.

The prehistoric creatures which dwelt here more than 65 million years ago are coming back to Earth at the end of November. They are coming to the Siemens Arena in Vilnius, providing a unique opportunity for the families to see an unforgettable show - a smart and intellectual performance which will awaken the imagination and the curiosity of both the children and the grown-ups. After the long and exhausting six years of making, the award-winning BBC TV documentary-style series Walking with Dinosaurs is making an astonishing dramatic entrance.

Walking with Dinosaurs is an impressive dinosaur parade; a striking manifestation of the evolution of these roaring creatures, featuring very realistic prehistoric creatures of unprecedented size and quality. The educational event was originally produced in Australia by Gerry Ryan, Malcolm Cooke and Jill Bryant. Later it was brought to the United Kingdom by The Creature Production Company. The event based on the award-winning BBC TV series was made in documentary fashion, which portrays the world history with cinematographic precision. “World-famous designers worked in collaboration with scientists in order to create 15 realistic dinosaurs and to give us a chance to touch prehistory and to meet Tyrannosaur, Stegosaur, Brachiosaur and other creatures of incredible size. This is an opportunity for us to realize how they really looked when they first stepped on the planet Earth; this is our chance to see what even the scientific literature and encyclopedias do not portray”, cheerfully narrates Mr. Renatas Nacajus, the General Manager of the agency SEVEN Live, which is the organizer of the event.
