In the cozy resort Birštonas the oldest traditional international jazz festival in Lithuania „Birštonas Jazz“ will start. The festival continues from 1980, because of that „Birštonas Jazz“ has earned the name of Lithuanian jazz Mecca. Here from all over Lithuania, and not only from here, come all jazz „pilgrims“.
Birštonas Jazz festival is not only the oldest but also the most democratic festival of Lithuanian jazz, which presents a diverse range of Lithuanian jazz elements, genres, trends and the diversity of styles, from dixilandjazz to contemporary experimental and innovative explorations. Birštonas Jazz Festival stage is open not only for professionals, but also to debutants, young musicians.
