“Costa Pacifica” and “Seabourn Pride” will anchor at the port of Klaipeda

This year five large (more than 200 meters long) cruise liners will visit Klaipeda, the port of Lithuania. Two cruise ships will anchor at the port of Klaipeda for the first time: “Costa Pacifica” , which is 290 meters long, plans to sail up three times and 133 m long “Seabourn Pride” will visit Klaipeda for a six times.
Preliminary data suggest that this year will come 37 cruise liners, slightly less than last year, when 45 ships and more than 35 thousand cruise passengers visited Klaipeda.

Cruise liner “Empress” in Klaipeda!

On Monday, a cruise liner “Empress“ stood in cruise ship terminal in Klaipeda. It arrived carrying a 1500 group of Spanish tourists.
The ship moored quayside 8 in the morning and proceeded at 2 p.m . Travelers had some time to get acquainted with the Old Town of Klaipeda, but some of them managed to see the Curonian Spit and Palanga. Ship „Empress“ is 210.81 meters long and 34.4 meters wide. It can transport 2,020 passengers. It has about 1,000 crew members who are ready to help in any case. It is estimated that an average of one cruise ship passenger spends around 60 euros at the port. “Empress” will visit Klaipeda for 9 times these year. The last time will be on 6th of septmeber. This year the cruise ship season ends September 23. Total number of cruise ships which comes to Klaipeda 48 times. It is expected that the number of tourists will not be less than last year - last year about 33512 tourists came to Klaipeda

Huge Italian liner in Klaipeda!

On Monday Italian liner “Costa Magica”, carrying 2663 passengers, arrived at the Klaipeda cruise ship terminal.
More than half of the tourists - Germans. Holidaymakers from France, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Portugal also have chosen this eleven-day cruise around the Baltic Sea.
Most ship passengers went directly to the Curonian Spit, Vente cape by bus. Other tourists went to the Old town of Klaipeda to explore it by themselves.
272-meter long “Costa Magica” – city on the water. Living in it - like in a five star hotel.
There are two huge restaurants, various bars, casinos, shops, sports club, theater room, night club, disco, spa, three open and one indoor pool, library, children’s rooms, a chapel in twelve ship decks.
The eleventh day cruise’s price depends on the cabins, ranging from 1100 up to 3000 Euro. This price includes all meals and entertainment. For alcoholic drinks passenger has to pay in his own.
This year the “Costa Magica” arrived to Klaipeda for the second time. The liner will arrive to Klaipeda the last time in July.
Next year, “Costa Magica” will be replaced by the larger “Costa” line ships. More than 300 meters long liners will arrive to Klaipeda.
