One more amazing object will adorn and glorify Vilnius city!
The tallest building in the Old Town - St. Johns’ church bell – revive for a new life! Since mid-April from it’s heights everyone will be able to enjoy views of the city.
A year ago, restorers, builders, blacksmiths and other professionals joined hands. Specialists determined to clean up the old bell tower and raise it to a new life. First, the bell was cleaned out from bird droppings, litter. Archaeological, constructive, polychromy, chemical, architectural research was accomplished also.
St. Johns’ church bell tower was restored by the the finances of EU. The restoration was costed at 4.7 million LTL.
This belfry is a five-storey building. The cellar was held under the belfry. On the third floor were hanging bells. The upper floor of the bell tower was surrounded by an iron gallery, wooden bowls stood at it’s corners .
Small ground floor room is planning to be equipped with the Science Museum. Visitors will be able to see Foucault’s Pendulum - the only one in all Baltic countries, with a variety of Vilnius University and the teachers who were related exhibits. Here visitors will be able to see things from the old bell-built - restorers uncovered the old masonry, plaster, brick samples. In one brick imprinted crow’s foot is remained. Part of the authentic floor tiles are also remained.
Climbing to the top. Screw XVI century stairs of wood leads to the belfry. Their structure and beams – authentic also, remained from the seventeenth century. Tourists to the observation site will be able to raise by a modern lift too.

The result of 300 kg chocolate and more than six working hours of sculptor Mindaugas Tendziagolskis and his six assistants - is the first chocolate room in Lithuania and probably in all Europe.
17 square meters of chocolate room, where everything (from walls and furniture to interior finishing materials - candlesticks, paintings, books) is made of chocolate, will be exhibited at Vilnius shopping and entertainment center “Akropolis” from 14th of February. Even dinner service and flatware will be cast from this sweet substance. Artist joked, that thinks to create and engagement ring of chocolate.
“It will be necessary to prepare more resource of chocolate, because I suspect, that curious visitors will break a piece of chocolate book or piece of chocolate candlesticks to see whether it is real”, - joked the artist.
The first chocolate room in Lithuania will be presented on the love day, at 17.00. It is planned to exhibit this original creation to 8th of March!
The whole installation is designed by the company “AJ” chocolate.

On Sunday all of you will be able to create and set off your own love lamps. Also you will walk through mysterious wintry park, listen love story about Augustas and Barbora and warm yourself with hot tasty tea.
Lamps will be designed in your own way. The stylist Greta Subatavičiūtė will help you to do it really professional!

Being the official World’s Most Popular DJ is just one of his many achievements, but the driving force behind his success is an overriding passion for dance music. Sold-out shows for Armin Only in 2005 and 2006 created eager anticipation of the third edition, which kicked off in a sold-out Jaarbeurs in Utrecht in 2008; over 16,000 fans attended and were enthralled by the DJ’s nine hour set. The theme of the night was ‘Imagine’, described by Armin as “the celebration of our sensations both in life and in club land.”
