The international Kaunas Jazz festival was the modest in 1991. Artistic vision and organizing structure has been changing responding to the realities of the time and experience of its organizers despite of the complicated economic and political situation of the country. Its artistic vision and organizing structure has improved much.
In the first Kaunas Jazz festival distinctive stylistic research has been done in order to make festival attractive. Unique traditions were created. At the same time the organizers were forming and growing an audience favorable to jazz.
During fiftheen years of its existence Kaunas Jazz has deserved confidence of its performers, audience supporters, has justified the status of the international festival, gained its prestige. Polystylistic, democratic festival has become a holiday for Kaunas, the lead “importer” of jazz stars in Lithuania, the creative center of different international jazz styles. Every year Kaunas Jazz presents a wide and rich spectrum of modern jazz. Participants from more than 20 countries of the world have taken part in the festival. Kaunas Jazz doesn’t forget Lithuanian musicians as well, which get excellent possibilities to improve themselves and to make Lithuanian jazz known in the world.

Kaunas International Film Festival is one of Lithuania’s most appreciated film festivals and the main film event in Kaunas, second largest city in the country. It presents films that have been acclaimed worldwide and also looks for new discoveries.
The main priority of Kaunas IFF is a combination of the artistic and social statements in film. In the “Wide Angle” section, acclaimed films are screened that reflect both modern tendencies in film art and social issues relevant to the global context. Kaunas IFF is the only film festival in the region to present a special section on music films with “Music Moves the World” and films about art in the “All the Muses” section. These are the three main sections in the festival, with additional retrospective programmes and theme sections each year.

Lithuanian national football team will start the 2012 European Championship, the tournament selection on Friday evening, in Kaunas S. Darius and S. Girenas Sports Center Stadium . The first Lithuanian rivals - Scottish football team. It is not first time when Scotland football team comes to Kaunas. And everytime they are supported by huge crowd of their fans. This mach on Friday will not be an exeption. It is expected, that few thousands of fans will come to Kaunas.
Meanwhile, Lithuanian team has been trainig since the begging of the week for this match.
According to Liutauras Varanavičius, president of LFF .”National team coach Raimondas Žutautas has made a program which provides to gain 13-14 points and at least take second place in the group during this cycle. It means, that Lithuanian team should win 3 points in this match. “

The anniversary 20th International Festival of Modern Dance will take place in Kaunas and Vilnius on 18th - 26th of September. The Festival annually attracts not only the most prominent modern dance troupes from all over the world but also new discoveries in the scene. Its 20th birthday will be celebrated together with guests from USA, Brasil, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Spain, and Italy.
It is not an accident that a significant part of the 20th Festival program is collected from performances of loyal to a festival troupes. And unseen troupes where selected by the festival head choreographer Birutė Letukaitė during visitations to the different foreign festivals and dance platforms.

In year 2010 travel agency “Visit Lithuania” cooperates with the Lithuanian State Department of Tourism with the project “ Organizing congnitive tours in Lithuania for journalist from foreign countries”. During the project Lithuania’s country is represented for the tourists.
Journalists from Spain televisions like Catalonia’s TV3, Spain’s Antena 3 Neox were in Lithuania one week ago. They had a meeting with the President of Lithuanian Republic- Dalia Grybauskaitė and the mayor of Kaunas city- Andrius Kupčinskas. Although the Lithuanian Football Federation has not announced yet where will be held the first Lithuanian national team’s match of 2012 European Football Championship selection, but Kaunas Mayor Andrius Kupcinskas has invited the Scottish football fans on 3 September to come to Kaunas, where should meet the Scottish and Lithuanian national teams.
On Tuesday “Team Talk International” journalists’ group visited Kaunas city. This journalist’s group create a video reportage of the cities, where the Scottish national team competitions are held. On Tuesday, reporters visited Kaunas City Hall and filmed interviews with the mayor.
“I want to congratulate the “Tartan Army” (Scottish national team fan club), which is coming to Kaunas the third time. Our city is the sport capital of Lithuania. In Kaunas and in all Lithuania the most popular sport is basketball, but football has a long tradition in Kaunas also. Our city team many times became the champion of Lithuania, played with Scottish clubs in European tournaments. Well, I know that Scottish football fans are the best and friendliest in the world, because they have visited Kaunas twice “, - said A. Kupcinskas.
Scottish journalists did not hide that they are probably the most surprising about Lithuanian beer prices. “The beer is incredibly delicious and cheap here” - laughed S. Hall.
Scottish media reports that the Scottish football fans could buy over three thousand tickets to the football match between Lithuania and Scotland. Kaunas S. Darius and S.
